International Women’s Day 2018

International Women’s Day 2018

In October 2017, the Huffington Post boldly stated that “women entrepreneurs are driving economic growth,” also stating that women led companies perform twice as well as those led by men.

This is no surprise to us. At Rockefeller Group Business Center, we constantly get a firsthand look at amazing women running their own company or being an integral part of the company they work for. As more and more women start their businesses, they’re finding executive workspaces to be the perfect fit for their office and networking needs. Being able to see a great amount of phenomenal women thrive, makes celebrating Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day even more special to us.

In celebration of International Women’s Day we are proud to highlight two women that have been long time clients of ours, Peg Yang and Manuelita Cody. Both women are making significant impacts in their related fields.

My advice for women is:

I’d give a quote from someone else, “Whatever your work may be, put your whole mind upon it and do it thoroughly; you need then have no fear as to your welfare, for there are so many who are careless and negligent that the services of the thorough [woman] are always in demand.”

Manuelita Cody

Based in New York City, the Chamber is a network of influential executives, innovative ideas and exclusive opportunities for businesses. Manuelita is from Bogota, Columbia.

 My advice for women is:

Education, the higher the better.  Study hard. Get good grades.  Hard work don’t be afraid to work outside of your normal job description/hours.  ALWAYS be professional in everything you do. Speak, write, look and behave professionally. Seek any opportunity to network.  Listen to those around you and stay informed.  Be kind, be fair, be approachable and easy to work with/ for.  Accept constructive criticism, however never be afraid of standing up for what’s right, be strong.  You should lead by example.  And most importantly, enjoy your work.
