2016 New York Stock Exchange Partial Holidays

The market will close at 1:00PM EST on these dates:
Day before Independence Day – Not applicable this year
Day following Thanksgiving – November 25
Christmas Eve – Not applicable this year

2017 New York Stock Exchange Holidays

The market is closed for the entire day on the following dates:
New Year’s Day – January 2

The market will close at 1:00PM EST on these dates:
Day before Independence Day – July 3
Day following Thanksgiving – November 24
Christmas Eve – Not applicable this year

In addition to New York Stock Exchange Holidays, there are also a few additional circumstances that may lead to the markets closing. These may include system failures, natural disasters, acts of war, and other unforeseen events. Although rare, extraordinary market volatility may also cause the market to temporarily close. These pre-determined trigger levels can cause the markets to shut down from 30 minutes to the rest of the day.
